HOUSTON – A woman was shot to death outside a northeast Harris County apartment Thursday.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said the shooting happened at the Haverstock Hill Apartments at 5619 Aldine Bender Road at Lee Road at 5:30 a.m.

Neighbors said they heard gunshots and then found the woman lying on the ground near a sport utility vehicle.
"I heard the gunshot and I woke up," resident Monique Thomas said. "I seen the lady was taking her last breath. We didn't want to touch her or anything. We was just so scared. She just died right there."
A group of people at the scene said the victim was 32-year-old Erika Hardy. Her family members said she did not live at the complex, but she may have been visiting relatives who do live there.
Hardy was the mother of two teenage children.
Investigators said they tested several residents for gunshot residue.
"I'm shooken up," Thomas said. "I'm lost for words. It was horrid. It was indescribable."
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
"At this point, we're doing scene photographs, collecting every evidence that we can find outside in the parking lot, interviewing witnesses to maybe lead us to what's going on," Detective Felipe Rivera said.
