Tips from community members led to the investigation, officials said.

"We received some information from various sources in the last couple of weeks that I guess led to us being here today," Montgomery County District Attorney Tyler Dunman said.

Police officers stood outside their offices as investigators carried out documents and records of what could be misconduct by city officials.

City Hall and the police department remained open throughout the seizure of documents.

About 3,000 people live in Patton Village.
