Students Say They Saw Porn On Teacher's Computer

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – A middle school teacher is in trouble after his students saw something inappropriate on his laptop computer.

Students in teacher Mark McKeever's first-period class at Friendswood Junior High said things became awkward quickly on Wednesday after the teacher turned on his computer.

"When the laptop loaded up, it was immediately projected onto the screen," student Layne Correa said. "What came up was obscene, like nudity and pictures ? like a collage of pictures."

What the students said they saw is too graphic to describe, but they said they knew it was inappropriate. They said McKeever came up with an explanation.

"He was trying to cover it up, waving his arms around the screen," Correa said. "He was yelling for someone to close the laptop really quick because it was really distracting. So someone got up and closed the laptop and he was really flustered and really embarrassed about it. He said that it was a project for a friend of his, someone asked him to do. He said he was working on it the night before."

Friendswood Independent School District officials said McKeever, who has been working in the district for 12 years, is also the school's head football coach. Correa is on the team.

Parents said they have questions, but they're not getting any answers.

The district has not told parents or KPRC Local 2 what was on the screen.

"What has my child seen, so that I can help him deal with this in a positive way?" said Correa's mother, Heather.

"I just think it's a really bad situation," Correa said. "It's not good for anyone."

A school district representative said that the school board will decide McKeever's punishment, if there is one, after an investigation is complete.
