HOUSTON – A man accused of killing his girlfriend was in court Monday.
Gabriel Robert Barrionuevo, 19, was charged with murdering Jessica Thrash, 18, in their southeast Houston townhome.

Houston police said Thrash's body was found at 3:45 a.m. at the bottom of stairs in a unit at the Contemporary South Townhomes, 5941 South Loop East, on Sept. 20.
Barrionuevo told investigators that Thrash fell down the stairs during a fight, but officials said his story did not add up.
Thrash died from multiple injuries to her head, according to the medical examiner's office.
Barrionuevo is being held on $100,000 bond.
The couple moved into the complex six months ago.
