HOUSTON – A respected autopsy physician at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science has been arrested and placed on leave from her job, Local 2 Investigates learned Monday.
Dr. Luisa Flores, a medical doctor at the morgue, was booked into the Harris County Jail Monday on a felony charge of lying to obtain credit.

Prosecutors told Local 2 Investigates the allegations have nothing to do with her work for Harris County government.
The charge of false statements to obtain credit is a first-degree felony, which means she could get a prison sentence or probation if she is found guilty.
Flores signed paperwork with the morgue requesting paid time off through Sept. 14.
The Harris County District Attorney's Office said it could provide no other details of her arrest Monday afternoon because the paperwork had not yet been filed in court.
A representative for the morgue did not return a call seeking comment.
