HOUSTON – If you've been sucking down tables of crawfish this summer, be careful—it could give you worms!

According to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2009 and 2010, nine people in Missouri reported having parasitic worms after eating raw crawfish.

The parasite can burrow from your digestive tract into your lungs, cheeks or even your brain.

If diagnosed early enough, there is medication to treat the infection. Most doctors recommend staying away from raw crawfish altogether.
