If you’re looking for an adventure that isn’t hours away, the City of Beaumont is just a straight shot off I-10 less than an hour and a half away from Houston, making it a perfect weekend road trip or even a day trip.

Christine Lokey, of Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau, says Gator Country is a must-see! The alligator-themed park offers swamp tours, hands-on interactions, and much more fun for all ages.

Lokey added that some people call Beaumont “the museum capital of Texas” with more museums in the city per capita.
