Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo hosting sensory-friendly carnival experience

HOUSTON – Attention rodeo-goers, grab your little cowboys and cowgirls for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s second-ever Sensory-Friendly Carnival Experience.

Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will use minimal lights and sounds in certain areas of The Junction and the main carnival area to provide an accommodating and positive experience for guests with sensory sensitivities or challenges.

The 40 rides that will be sensory-friendly are Baja Buggies, Balloons Up Up and Away, the Carousel, Cliff Hanger, Clown Glasshouse, Cyclone, Dizzy Dragon, Dodgem, Euroslide, Farm Tractors, Flying Dutchmen, Goliath Slide, Groovy Bus, Happy Circus Train, Jumbo Flying Elephants, Kite Flyer, Konga, La Grande Wheel XL, Little Dipper, Mini Bumper Cars, Monster Trucks, Motorcycles, New York New York, Pelican Splash, Pirates Island, Puppy Roll, Quad Ride, Rockin Rodeo Rockin Tug, Silly Seas #2, Silver Streak Speedway, Spider Mania, Superslide, Surf Shack, Survival Island, Tea Cups, Tilt a Whirl Twister, VW Bugs, Wacky Worm, Zero Gravity.

Rodeo volunteers from the Special Children’s Committee will also be there to assist guests during this time.
