‘Saved by the Bell’ star Mario Lopez announced as first guest of Comicpalooza 2021 in Houston

Lopez is the co-host of the TV magazine show "Extra" and most recently appeared in cameo roles as himself in the comedy "Get Him to the Greek" and the TV drama "Drop Dead Diva," and voiced Social Smurf in "The Smurfs 2." In 2010-11, he starred with then-girlfriend (and current wife) Courtney Mazza in the reality TV series "Mario Lopez: Saved By the Baby." Before that, he competed on "Dancing With the Stars" (finishing in second place in 2006) and had a starring role in the daytime drama "The Bold and the Beautiful." He's also hosted a variety of shows, including "America's Best Dance Crew," "MTV's Top Pop Group," the U.S. version of "The X Factor," "Pet Stars" and "The Miss Teen USA Pageant," and guest-starred on the F/X drama "Nip/Tuck" on eight episodes from 2006-2010.

HOUSTON – Ready for a 90′s throwback at Comicpalooza?

‘Saved by the Bell’ star and host of ‘Access Hollywood’ Mario Lopez joins a growing list of guests joining Houston’s biggest comic and pop culture event at George R. Brown Convention Center.

Lopez’s upcoming guest appearance was announced Wednesday morning on the Comicpalooza website and on its social media accounts.

Lopez is well known as high school football heartthrob “A.C. Slater” in the original “Saved by the Bell.” He later returned in the series revival last year as Bayside High’s football coach. The revival series of the same name is now streaming on Peacock.

Comicpalooza is set for July 17-18 at George R. Brown Convention Center. Passes are now available for purchase here.
