Buying Garth Brooks rodeo tickets? 7 things that could give you an edge on the ticket competition

Knowing numbers 3 and 4 could put you over the top

HOUSTON – Garth Brooks will open and close the 2018 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Tickets for those Feb. 27 and March 18 shows go on sale Friday, Dec. 1, and they are expected to go quickly.

Now is the time to come up with your strategy if you're hoping to snag tickets. They will be only sold online; they will not be available for purchase in person or over the phone.

A RODEO Marketplace has been set up to help with the transfer of tickets.

Here are the seven things to know to put yourself in the best position to be one of the lucky buyers.

1. Sale begins at 10 a.m.

2. Online waiting room opens at 9:30 a.m.

3. If you are in the waiting room between 9:30 and 9:59, you will be in the pool from which people are randomly selected to enter the store at 10. It doesn't matter if you are in the waiting room at 9:39 or 9:59; you still have the same chance to be randomly selected at 10 a.m.

4. If you sign in at 10 or after, you will be behind everyone who was in the waiting room by 9:59.

5. More than 20,000 tickets will be available. The seats will be located in the Loge and Upper levels of NRG Stadium.

6. A maximum of four tickets, for one performance only, will be allowed per account.

7. Tickets will be delivered via Flash Seats, the official RODEOHOUSTON paperless ticketing system.
