Comedian Ralphie May dies at 45

HOUSTON – Ralphie May, 45-year-old comedian, died after suffering cardiac arrest in Las Vegas.

A statement posted to May's Twitter account said he had been battling pneumonia and had canceled performance dates over the last month in order to recover.

The statement said he had performances for a residency at Harrah's Las Vegas for the rest of 2017.

When he was a teenager, he moved to Houston and graduated from High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. 

May is survived by his wife and two children.
