Seniors to compete for pageant crown in Pasadena

PASADENA, Texas – Fifteen women will take the stage Thursday at the Pasadena Convention Center to compete for the 2017 Ms. Pasadena Senior Pageant crown.

Among the contestants, there are business owners, a professional clown, aerobics instructors, a ballroom dancer, a music video actress, an aspiring author and a computer instructor. Between them, they have countless hours of charitable work and a long list of affiliations with churches, universities and community service groups. Their ages range from 64-94 years old.

The women will compete at the Pasadena Convention Center at 7 p.m.

They will face off in talent, interview, philosophy of life and evening gown competitions.

At the end of the evening, a new Ms. Pasadena Senior will be crowned. With the title comes a $500 cash prize, a pendant from Frank’s & Sons Jewelry and other prizes. The new queen will also represent the city at community events throughout the year.

The pageant will also feature Grand Ole Opry entertainer Mr. Johnny Counterfeit and Jerry Locke and his band, the Hat Creek Cowboys, as well as comedian Booger Lee.

The pageant is hosted by the Madison Jobe Senior Center.

Pageant admission is free.
