Large rat spotted in restaurant in Alvin

ALVIN, Texas – Members of a family said they were having dinner at the Baytown Seafood Restaurant in Alvin when they saw a rat crawling out of the ceiling.

One patron whipped out his cellphone and started recording.

"They were coming from the roof," customer Ernesto Guerra said. "They were on the little light string that they have."

Guerra said his family had just started eating when his fiance saw a rat scurrying along the restaurant's window frames and pictures on the wall.

Guerra posted the video on Facebook. The video clip shows what appears to be a black rat coming out of the ceiling and darting across the window frame.

"I told my kids and my fiancee , 'Let's go. I ain't dealing with this," Guerra said.

Guerra told us this happened Thursday. When KPRC 2 went to the restaurant Friday, it was closed with a sign on the door that said "Closed. Take care. Elimination."

Owner Sokoam Aing said one of his employees told him about the rat. He said he is working with an extermination company to take care of the problem.

When asked if he had ever seen rats at his business, Aing said he's "never seen them."
