The project is intended to improve accessibility, connectivity and recreational opportunities while creating a more welcoming space for park users of all ages and abilities.
Planned improvements include:
Two new playgrounds with shade
Improved walking paths and park surfaces
New connections to the MKT Trail
A fitness area
Improvements to baseball field bleachers
The project also includes several accessibility and inclusivity features.
Construction was originally expected to take about a year, but there could be some good news for residents waiting to see the improvements completed: Project officials say the work may be ahead of schedule with completion coming as soon as next summer!
