Houston Life is a leading multi-platform lifestyle brand that reflects, shapes, and enhances the daily lives of Houstonians. Our content spotlights the city’s most exciting businesses, creators, and ideas while celebrating Houston’s unique culture and identity.
Ready to create content that lives everywhere? KPRC 2 is looking for a dynamic, digital-first storyteller to co-host Houston Life, our live, one-hour daily lifestyle show, while producing engaging content across broadcast, streaming, web, and social platforms.
This is more than an on-air role — it’s an opportunity to be a true content creator. You’ll pitch, shoot, write, edit, and publish stories that connect with audiences wherever they are. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy building meaningful connections both on-screen and off, we want to meet you.
THE ROLE: Full-time Co-Host/Reporter for KPRC 2’s Local Programming department, contributing to Houston Life and its associated broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Co-host a live, daily talk show - leading both scripted and unscripted segments with confidence and personality
- Own stories end-to-end: pitch → shoot → write → edit → publish
- Create sponsored and non-sponsored video and written content for TV, HoustonLife.tv, streaming, and social platforms
- Create digital and social-native content that extends the life of every story beyond the broadcast
- Actively promote stories across social media before, during, and after they air — driving engagement and conversation
- Conduct engaging live and taped interviews that inform, entertain, and connect with viewers
- Collaborate with producers and sales team to create standout, shareable content (including sponsored segments)
- Contribute fresh ideas for long-term storytelling, special series, and cross-platform initiatives
- Represent KPRC 2 and Houston Life at community events, to build relationships and grow audience across platforms
- Embrace new technology and digital storytelling strategies!
WHAT YOU MUST BRING:
- A strong on-air presence + excellent ad-libbing skills
- A proven ability to shoot, write, and edit your own content
- An understanding of how best to create content that performs across platforms
- An ability to move fast, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high production value
- A team-first, creative, and energetic mindset!
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years live on-air experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience shooting, writing, editing material for broadcast and digital
- Strong internal and external communication skills across teams and platforms
- Deep understanding of current and emerging social media platforms and audience engagement strategies
- Availability for a full-time M–F schedule, with occasional evenings/weekends for special events
- Must understand KPRC 2’s presence in the community and the core values associated with our brand
