A teenager has been arrested following a mass shooting in Florida that injured Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell.

Dell, 24, was shot Saturday while visiting a nightclub in Sanford.

Authorities say Dell was an innocent bystander, noting he was not involved in the altercation and was simply caught in the crossfire at Cabana Live.

What happened

According to police, at some point during the night, a fistfight broke out.

During the fight, an unidentified 16-year-old pulled out a handgun and started shooting at a crowd of people. It is believed that at least 10 people, including Dell, were shot and injured.

It was later discovered that there was a second unidentified shooter who returned fire with an additional five rounds. The search continues for the second unidentified gunman.

A security guard standing nearby was able to tackle the teen, however, and disarm him.

At this time, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said that they have not been able to confirm the identities of the other victims, according to CNN.

Dell, a former University of Houston standout, is originally from Daytona Beach, Florida, according to the NFL. Daytona Beach is about 40 miles from Sanford, where the shooting took place.

He was released from the hospital Sunday and is expected to make a full recovery.

Texans Statement

On Sunday afternoon, the Houston Texans released its first statement about the shooting.

It read, in part, “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”
