HOUSTON – KPRC 2 and American Furniture Warehouse are surprising 20 deserving high school seniors with scholarships in 2024. All students selected for scholarships have been nominated by their high schools.
The fourth $2,500 scholarship winner from the Class of 2024 is Parth Nikumbh, an outstanding student at Katy Independent School District’s Seven Lakes High School. Nikumbh is ranked sixth out of 851 students in his graduating class.
Nikumbh is active in varsity Speech and Debate and also serves as president of his school’s Pre-Med Club and STEM Club, the latter of which he also founded.
Not only has Nikumbh racked up an impressive number of volunteer hours, he also founded his own nonprofit organization called ThinkBeyond. Through ThinkBeyond, Nikumbh offers free STEM-related workshops to children from low-income families at their schools. The growing organization now has more than 1,000 members in three different school districts.
Nikumbh wants to pursue a degree in Health Science with a Pre-Med pathway. He hopes to attend Rice University.
