At the direction of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the FL Division of Emergency Management is sending aid to Texas to support response efforts during severe weather and flooding.

In a social media post the The FL Division of Emergency Management shared:

At the direction of @GovRonDeSantis, @FLSERT is deploying search and rescue teams to Texas to assist with response efforts from ongoing severe weather and flooding. Florida is proud to support Texas and other states in their times of need through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.

Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough shared images as teams arrived to assist in the county.

What Is EMAC?

Emergency Management Assistance Compact is the cornerstone of the nation’s mutual aid system, providing assistance for all hazards, such as flooding in Houston.

EMAC offers assistance during governor-declared states of emergency or disaster through a responsive, straightforward system that allows states to send personnel, equipment, and commodities to assist with response and recovery efforts in other states.
