Tornado touches down in Bryan

BRYAN, Texas – Reports of a tornado touched down in Bryan Thursday afternoon.

According to College Station police, the tornado hit the area of Boonville Rd. and FM 1179.

Photos and videos on social media show tornado damage across the area. The funnel was moving at a reported speed of 25 mph.

The extent of the of the damage is unknown at this time. The affected areas are the Green Valley neighborhood, Marimont community and homes along FM 1179, according to police.

Emergency crews are on the scene. Residents are advised to avoid the areas affected by the tornado. Roads have been blocked off.

A&M Consolidated High School graduation practice has been canceled, according to police.

Twitter user @MaxMcmann recorded the tornado from inside Bryan High School and shared it on Twitter. The video contains graphic language.
