National Weather Service confirms tornado touchdown during Sunday evening storm in League City.

EF-0 tornado packed winds of 70 miles per hour.

HOUSTON – The National Weather Service confirmed that a weak tornado touched down in League City early Sunday evening, at around 6:30.

The storm, an EF-0 tornado, produced wind near 70 miles per hour and produced only minor damage to fences and a storage shed.  No injuries occurred from the storm.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado touched down near the Cabela's store on the west side of I-45 between F.M. 646 and League City Parkway.  It traveled northeast, across the interstate, for almost a mile and a half and left a damage path 30 yards wide.  Its track ended near Lynn Nursery on Pecan Orchard Road.

The tornado was on the ground for approximately seven minutes.
