Tonight’s Forecast:

Areas north of I-10 have the best chance at showers and storms but can’t rule out spotty to scattered activity south . Temperatures will remain warm through Sunday morning.

A Flood Watch will be in effect Sunday morning through Monday morning for Madison, Walker, San Jacinto, Trinity, Polk, and Houston counties. The flood threat also comes with a chance for severe thunderstorms that may produce hail and damaging winds. I know a lot of us have plans to celebrate our moms. Make sure you can receive warnings if that is needed.

Northern counties have the best potential for flooding over the next 48 hours.

Sunday Morning:

Models are trending quiet for Sunday morning- Mother’s Day starts off with mostly cloudy skies and spotty to scattered showers and storms. Northern counties begin to see storms move in near 9 AM.

Sunday morning is mostly cloudy with rain and storms picking up by the afternoon.

Sunday Afternoon:

The strongest and most widespread activity continues to fire off mainly north of I-10 but there will some scattered storms in Harris County on south. As the afternoon progress the line of storms in our northern counties will gradually start to press southeast.

Sunday Evening and Night:

Storms will continue to press southeast, bringing heavy downpours, strong winds and the potential for hail. Storms will continue to fire off behind the main line mainly north of I-10.

Monday Storms Continue:

Monday widespread showers and storms continue with the threat for some to be strong to severe.

Widespread shower and storms Monday that could produce hail and damaging winds.

Sunday and Monday rain totals could reach 2″ to 4″ the exceptions will be northeast of I-10 where communities could touch 6″ or more if we see training storms ( storms moving over the same area repeatedly). On the opposite end near the coast could struggle to hit an inch.

Heaviest rain will likely fall northeast of Harris County.
10-Day Forecast:

After Monday we return to sunshine before another round of rain and storms arrive late week.

Soggy start to the week before sunshine returns Tuesday.
