I-10 EB at Federal reopens after deadly 18-wheeler crash

HOUSTON – All eastbound lanes of I-10 at Federal have reopened Friday morning after a deadly 18-wheeler accident shut down all lanes.

According to Houston Police, the driver of a white Toyota Scion was speeding along I-10 when IT slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer. The driver of the Scion was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt. 

The Houston Police Department worked to get the accident cleared up before rush hour.  

"We're going to do our very best to get this open before rush hour. This could be a problem for commuters. As soon as we get the investigation complete we will open up for commuters," HPD Edward Fendia said.
