Driver of SUV injured in school bus crash in Highlands

HIGHLANDS, Texas – A driver was injured when their vehicle crashed into the back of a school bus in east Harris County on Friday afternoon, officials said.

The crash was reported about 1 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Kerry Road in Highlands.

According to a spokeswoman for the Goose Creek Independent School District, the bus had stopped at railroad tracks, as required, and a SUV behind it also stopped. A third vehicle crashed into the back of the SUV, which smashed into the back of the bus.

The driver of the SUV was flown to a local hospital for treatment, but their condition was not immediately released.

No one on the bus was injured.

The condition of the person in the third vehicle was not immediately released.
