Bryce Newberry is a journalist and started at KPRC 2 in July of 2022. He loves the thrill of breaking news and digging deep on a story that gets people talking. Some of his first stories with KPRC 2 include the Pasadena tornado, former President Donald Trump’s first 2024 campaign rally, and the announcement of the Houston ISD takeover. He also investigated for the KPRC 2+ documentary, The Two Sides of Sarah.
Bryce was previously a reporter in Austin. He covered the mass shooting in Midland that killed seven people, the aftermath of Tropical Storm Imelda in Southeast Texas, and the disappearance of Austin mother Heidi Broussard and her newborn baby. He also reported live from the riots following the murder of George Floyd.
Before working in Austin, Bryce was a reporter and anchor for Cronkite News--the news division of Arizona PBS in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bryce graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University with a degree in journalism and mass communications, as well as minors in criminology and digital audiences. He earned a student production award from the NATAS Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter for his coverage of the opioid epidemic in Arizona.
While in college, Bryce gained experience through internships at NBC’s TODAY Show based in Los Angeles and the CBS Evening News in New York.
