Texans announce training camp dates, open Houston practices

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans announced months ago they would hold training camp away from Houston for the first time in team history, moving their practices to West Virginia.

The team announced on Tuesday, the first 17 training camp practices for the team will be held at The Greenrbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

Practices will begin on Wednesday, July 26 and continue for the following 12 days with the team taking Monday, July 1 and Sunday, Aug. 6 off.

Then one additional practice is scheduled before the team travels to Carolina for their preseason opener on Aug. 9. 

The team returns to West Virginia for another six practices, two of which will be joint practices with the New England Patriots (Aug. 15 and 16). 

The teams will then travel to Houston for their preseason game at NRG Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 19. 

Houston will hold two 8:30 a.m. practices open to fans in Houston at the Methodist Training Center on Aug. 21 and Aug. 22.

Fans can register for a training camp ticket drawing starting Tuesday, Aug. 8 until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11. CLICK/TAP HERE TO REGISTER.

Winning fans (two tickets per person, per practice) will be notified via email on Monday, Aug. 14. Bleacher seating at each practice session is general admission.

Gates will open to fans at 7:30 a.m. prior to open practices. Lines will form on Murworth Drive. The NFL Clear Bag policy will be in effect for both practices.

Free parking is available beginning at 4 a.m. south of the Houston Methodist Training Center off of Lantern Point Drive in the Green Lot on Aug. 21-22.

Texans players, ambassadors, cheerleaders and TORO will be available for autographs, and fans can partake in the Fan Zone.
