HOUSTON – Houston leaders are counting down to Super Bowl LI next year with giveaways, food and the unveiling of a game-branded METRO bus.
Friday marks 100 days until the big game at NRG Stadium on Feb. 5, and the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee has a full day of activities planned for the occasion.
The committee’s mascot, TD, will start his day by attending a Read On Legacy Initiative event before he heads down to Midtown Park for a press conference.
TD will then travel around the city giving away gas to some lucky drivers.
At 11 a.m., METRO will unveil its new Super Bowl-branded bus, and officials will detail their plans for transportation during the big game.
The city's Touchdown Tour continues Saturday at Sunnyside Park. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.
