She finished first in her semifinal race in the woman's 200 meter fly to move on to the finals.

"Obviously really exciting having Kathleen and Katie make it last night, I live with Katie so very close and Kathleen is my little sister and I'm her roommate here. Was very emotional last night for me. So I think I'm going to sleep well tonight after these 24 hours," Adams said.

Earlier in the day there were some uneasy moments for the top-seeded swimmer with a disqualification scare during the morning heats.

Judges reviewed, and the call ultimately overturned.

"This meet has so much riding on the line and we take it so seriously. So tonight I was like I'm just going to relax and have some fun. I wore the pink cap. I just needed to relax tonight and I'm really happy with that," Adams said.

Also hitting the pool on Wednesday was Sugar Land's Simone Manual.

Despite a 7th place finish in the 200 meter freestyle Final, she's still looking forward to her other races in the days to come.

"I really just wanted to put it all out there and see what I had left on the back end. Wish the result was a little better but hopefully I'll pick it back up for the 100 free," Manuel said.
