HOUSTON – The Texans released running back Gerrid Doaks as they officially signed seven draft selections and six undrafted rookies in advance of their rookie minicamp.

Doaks is a former Miami Dolphins seventh-round draft pick from Cincinnati.

He rushed for 673 yards and caught 14 passes for 202 yards as a senior and was named first-team all-conference.

Doaks (5-foot-11 228 pounds) spent the past two seasons with the Texans on their practice squad before signing a reserve-future deal in January.

The Texans’ roster includes starting running back Joe Mixon, backups Dameon Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale and rookie Jawhar Jordan.
