Rapper Flo Rida donates uniforms to youth football team scammed by vendor

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – Whether they are out on the football field playing their hardest to win, or just goofing around playing basketball at home, the 120 members of the Beast Mode junior football team in Friendswood, give everything they have got for each other, and play with heart.

But a heartless football uniform vendor out of Atlanta, Georgia, has sucker-punched every single member of the Beast Mode team, ages 5-12, by taking $12,000 from the parents and the kids, who raised money themselves, and failing to deliver the brand-new uniforms they had ordered.

The uniforms were originally supposed to arrive July 28, but they still have not. In addition to that, countless calls and emails by team leaders to the vendor have gone unanswered.

Rapper Flo Rida caught wind of the story and reached out to KPRC. He agreed to donate 120 self-designed uniforms for the team.

At the team's first series of games this past Saturday, the Beast Mode players had to wear their practice shirts with some makeshift yellow numbers on them.

The kids are brokenhearted.

"I wonder why that man would steal from us. We're just a bunch of kids. We didn't do anything to him," Korrye Williams Jr. said.

"He has taken our money and not given us the product he promised us," Sonia Solomon, whose son plays on the team, said.

"I'm not going to say this is destroying me, because it takes more than this, but this is absolutely devastating," team president Judy Harris-Owens said.

"Nobody can mess with us. We're a family," one player said.

With all that money gone and the vendor nowhere to be found, parents have set up a GoFundMe account to try and raise the $12,000 to buy uniforms from someone else.
