HOUSTON – A child has been hospitalized after a family member in a car reportedly hit the child in the Channelview area, according to deputies.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the boy was injured in the 900 block of Raywood Court. A family member told KPRC 2 the boy, who they identified as Damion Morales, was playing outside with other children when he fell down near the rear tire of the car.
The relative's vehicle struck the boy. He was bleeding severely, the family member said.
"My aunt was with the kid, and was crying. She didn't know what to do. She was just asking for help," the toddler's cousin, Jennifer Lopez, said. "She didn't know what to do, so she panicked."
The boy, 2, was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital. There is no word on his condition.
Deputies are on scene investigating.
