Woman wearing wig, orange dress accused of robbing 2 Houston banks

HOUSTON – The FBI is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman bank bandit who robbed two Houston banks on Monday, wearing a blonde wig and orange dress, police said.

The first robbery was reported at 2:30 p.m. at a Capital One bank in the 1100 block of Eldridge Parkway.

The wig bandit walked into the bank with a note taped to her hand bag, stating she was armed with a gun, police said. The woman showed her note to the teller and demanded cash, officials said. According to police, the woman got frustrated with the teller and left the bank without any money.

Twenty minutes later, with the same costume, the woman walked in a Chase bank at 2:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of Eldridge Parkway. Police said the woman showed the same note on her purse, the teller gave an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank. Police said she was last seen talking on her phone as she was leaving the bank.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a black woman, about 25-30 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall and wearing make-up foundation that was caked on her face. Along with her disguise, she wore a blonde wig, orange dress, black sweater, sandals and dark-colored sunglasses. The purse that she had a note on was tan colored.
