Woman killed in southwest Houston shooting Police search for gunman
HOUSTON – A woman was shot and killed Sunday morning in southwest Houston, police said.
Police were called around 3:40 a.m. to the 9600 block of Braeburn Glen Boulevard. Officers arrived and found Michaela Maldonado, 18, dead at the scene.
According to investigators, witnesses said Maldonado was on the sidewalk when a small, light colored,-colored four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla or a Hyundai Sonata, drove past her. Witnesses reported seeing a light skinned-skinned black or Hispanic man driving the vehicle, police said. Witnesses told police they heard a gunshot and then saw the vehicle drive away.
