Woman found dead in burning vehicle in Richmond area, deputies say

RICHMOND, Texas – Detectives discovered a car on fire around 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

The car was found in a field about three-quarters of a mile down FM 762 in Richmond.

Investigators with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said a body was found inside the burning car and now, they're asking for help to identify the woman.

"We've gotten some leads and are working with the info we have, but we need help from the community so they can help us," Sgt. Dalia Simons said.

Simons said the death was not an accident and the case is being investigated as a homicide.

The victim is described as a white or Hispanic woman between 20 and 25 years old.

She had bars wired into her jaw, so, she may have recently had mouth surgery, possibly due to a traumatic injury.

"We do know the vehicle is a 2016 silver Nissan Altima that was reported missing out of Harris County," Simons said.
