Woman accused of pointing laser at aircraft

HARRIS COUNTY – Houston police have arrested a woman who is accused of directing a laser pointer at an aircraft.

According to court documents, the incident happened in Harris County on Sunday around 2 a.m.

A helicopter was in the Gulfton area when it was hit by a laser beam twice, according to police. It was then hit a third time when it landed, police said. Officer tracked a car they believed to be responsible and arrested Emily Ann Hunter.

Investigators said the light source that was intense enough to impair the pilot.

Hunter, 23, of Corpus Christi, is charged with illumination of an aircraft, a misdemeanor.

Her bond was set at $1,000.
