Police believe the robber shot and killed Tri Ming Nguyen, 36, around noon on March 29 at Wahoo's Fish N' Wings at 12306 Fondren before going on a spree of robberies in the area.

Upon entering the eatery, the man approached the counter, pulled out a pistol and demanded money, authorities said. According to investigators, Nguyen went to pull out his gun, but the man fired his weapon first.

Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Nguyen’s brother, Man Nguyen said, "I just don't want anybody else to go through the same pain that I went through losing the youngest one of the family so soon, so early. Please help us."

Authorities say the man robbed a Shipley's Donuts at 8802 Stella Link in southwest Houston shortly after he shot Nguyen. Police also say the man then robbed a Food Dollar at 13210 South Post Oak and also hit the New China Restaurant at 6302 State Highway 6 in Missouri City.

Houston authorities said the accused shooter was last seen on West Airport Boulevard.

Police say the man is seen leaving the scenes of each robbery in the same gold two-door vehicle.

The man is described as a black man in his late teens to early 20s, between 5 feet 2 inches tall and 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was wearing sagging tan pants, a gray hoodie and distinctive light blue shoes.

Detective Christopher Elder, of the Houston Police Department, said, "I think he's brazen. Right after committing a murder, he goes and commits three additional aggravated robberies wearing the exact same clothes.”

Often, his blue and white checkered boxer shorts can be seen. In all four incidents, he was armed with a silver semi-automatic pistol.

Police urge anyone with information on the identity of the wanted man to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
