VIDEO: Fulshear police, construction workers rescue deer tied to tree

FULSHEAR, Texas – A Construction worker and a Fulshear police officer help rescue a deer tied to a tree.

According to the Fulshear Police Department Facebook page, Officer Kevin Zieschang received a bizarre call from a neighborhood with homes under construction.

The officer met construction workers, who led him to the backyard of a home where they found a young male deer tied to a tree. The rope was tied around the the deer's antlers.

Zieschang and the workers helped cut the deer loose and remove the rope from his antlers. The rescue was captured on the officer's body camera.

They tried to tell the deer to leave, but he wanted to stuck around for a bit.

"He's just hanging out man," one of the men in the video said.

When they walked to the front of the house, the deer made sure to thank Zieschang. The deer walked right up to the officer.

"After a few hugs and kisses, and most importantly, a scratch behind the ears, the grateful buck walked back to the woods located behind the homes to tell the story of his rescue by the Fulshear police," the Facebook post read.

It is unclear why the deer was tied to the tree. Anyone with information is asked to call Fulshear police at 281-346-2202.
