Vet accused of killing cat with arrow in court for DWI
HOUSTON – The former Brenham veterinarian who posted a photo of a dead cat with an arrow in its head online was in court Wednesday morning but for a different charge.
Kristen Lindsey came to court with her attorney for a DWI case. Police said Lindsey was driving while intoxicated in March and nearly hit an off-duty Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constable on I-10 near the 610 West Loop.
HPD said one of their officers arrested her after she ran into a curb.
Lindsey first made the news in April 2015 for a Facebook photo in which she claimed to kill a cat with a bow and arrow.
The caption on the picture read, "my first bow kill lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head! Vet of the year award... Greatly appreciated."
The owner of the clinic where Lindsey reportedly worked told KPRC 2 News he fired her after he found out about the Facebook post.
No charges were ultimately filed against Lindsey in that case.
Lindsey is still fighting not to lose her vet license.
Lindsey's next court appearance for the DWI case is Sept. 8.
