Swastika formed from rocks at Langham Creek High School

HOUSTON – Vandals on Friday used rocks outside Langham Creek High School that normally spell out the initials of the school to form a swastika.

A picture sent to KPRC 2 showed pieces of the LCHS lettering missing and the Nazi symbol underneath it.

"We saw videos and pictures on Snapchat," student Nick Hoffman said. "They probably think it's funny."

Nicole Ray, a spokeswoman for the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, said officials took immediate action to remove the rocks, and an investigation is being conducted.

“We are extremely disappointed by this horrible act of vandalism,” Ray said in a statement. “We will make every effort to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of this despicable crime.”

Officials are not sure when the rocks were moved.

Students believe whoever did it wasn't trying to make a racist or hateful statement, but were only trying to stir up trouble.

"Honestly, it kid of makes our school look a little trashy," student Elijah Bear said. "They just do it to get attention."

Ray asked anyone with information about the case to contact law enforcement.

School officials say they fully intend to file criminal charges against whoever is responsible for the swastika.

School officials conceded this is the second time the Cy-Fair school district has faced this issue this year.

In February, controversy arose when students at Cy-Ranch high school were criticized for giving what appeared to be a Nazi salute in a photo.
