2 men in custody linked to shooting death of 4-year-old Ava Castillo

HOUSTON – Two men believed to be connected to the shooting death of little Ava Castillo were arrested Wednesday, police said.

Investigators were questioning three people Tuesday. Investigators have not said how the two people in custody are related to the child's death. No charges have been filed in the case.

Four-year-old Ava was killed Nov. 14 when robbers ambushed her family as they were unloading groceries outside their Greenspoint area apartment complex.

Ava's mom and sister were also shot, but they survived.

It’s been more than two weeks since police began actively searching for the shooters and asking the public for any tips.

Detectives have been putting in long hours, working long days and nights to solve this case.

Officials desperately want to catch these dangerous people and get them off the streets.
