A sinkhole on Elm Street: Neighbors say city has added to their nightmare

HOUSTON – A nightmarish sinkhole has formed in the Greater East End, and neighbors said the city of Houston isn't doing much about it.

The hole is about 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep, smack dab in the middle of the intersection of Elm Street and Medina Street, near where Brays Bayou joins Buffalo Bayou.

Neighbors said they have reported the sinkhole but nothing has been done.

The hole formed about two weeks ago, according to neighbors.

The Houston Department of Public Works said it is looking into the matter.
