Burglars target SE Houston beauty supply store

HOUSTON – Thieves struck the Beauty Empire store Sunday on Bellfort Road in southeast Houston. They cut their way in through the roof and stole thousands of dollars worth of high-end hair extensions.

"They're coming in through the wall and dropping down," said Jasmine Richard, who works at the store.

She explained to Local 2, the burglars are hanging from the ceiling and grabbing the hair without stepping foot in the store, that way they don't set off the alarm or leave behind any fingerprints.

Beauty Empire has been broken into several times and the owners and workers think it might be the work of the same people.

"They took about $10,000 worth of merchandise," Richard said.

The crooks are going for high dollar hair, packages that normally sell for $80 - $100 a pack.

The store's surveillance system did record some grainy images of two people who appear to be breaking in through the back of the store.

They use the garbage dumpster to get onto the roof. The video isn't clear enough to get a good description of the suspects.

The owners are hoping someone who knows something about the crimes will contact the police.
