Prostitution sting nets 7 arrests

HOUSTON – Seven people were arrested in a weeklong investigation focusing on prostitution and human trafficking in north Harris County.

Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables made contact with several of the suspects online and investigators said they agreed to meet at a hotel near I-45 North Freeway and Louetta in the Spring area. 

"They basically came over to the hotel to solicit our officers for money," Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said.

He said two men and five women were arrested, including one teen who is a high school student in the Spring area. Charges include prostitution, compelling prostitution and outstanding warrants.

Herman said this kind of crime is becoming more prevalent.

"Many of these places they come to are right outside our neighborhoods where our kids are playing and folks live.  We all know how prostitution brings other crimes to our area," Herman said. "We're gonna put them in jail and what we can to keep Precinct 4 safe."
