Porter's Sundance Head wows on first night of 'The Voice' finals

HOUSTON – It was an amazing night for Porter's Sundance Head as he hopefully moves one step closer to a win forin Season 11 of The"The Voice."

He showed his talent, range, and personality Monday in three strong performances.

"My whole plan was to just go out and have fun and do the best," said Head. "I believe I did that and now it's up to America to vote, you know."

Monday was largely a night about what matters most to Sundance: music and family.

His first song was an original tune he wrote for his wife.

Head later teamed up with his coach, Blake Shelton, for a duet of his father's 1965 hit tune "Treat Her Right."

Sundance is the son of Roy Head, who was the lead singer of Roy Head and the Traits.

"Treat Her Right" was the world's #2No. 2 song on the Billboard Chart, second only to "Yesterday" by The Beatles.

Sundance's performance brought tears to his father's eyes.

"I'm glad that we could thrill my dad. He's getting old and he's done so much for me," says Sundance. "He was a real, old time-time rocker, and to be able to pay him back is special."

With one day left until the Season 11 champ is crowned, Sundance is ready for the results and thankful for his fans and support back home.

"I just want to tell you 'thank you' to everybody back home," he says. "I also really want to meet everybody and let them know how grateful I am for their support. Hopefully I can do that when I get back to town."

So what's next?

Sundance certainly will need the help of the viewers.

They can vote several different ways until 11 a.m. Tuesday, Houston time.

They can vote via text, and iTunes sales, as well as through The"The Voice's" app, Facebook page and website.
