EquuSearch joins effort to find missing League City woman

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Texas EquuSearch crews are still searching for a League City mother who has been missing for one week.

According to League City Police, 30-year-old Anne Christine Johnson was last seen by her ex-husband Dec. 8.  He told investigators she left his League City house with an unidentified man in a white sedan.

Johnson recently started working as a cocktail waitress at Legends Sports Grill in League City.  She called in sick to work Dec. 7 and her coworkers have not heard from her since.

On Thursday, EquuSearch crews used ATVs and drones to search for the missing mother of two young boys.  They searched a wooded area in League City between I-45 and SH 35.

“Right now, we don’t have any evidence of foul play and we don’t have any evidence she left on her own,” said Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch. “We just have one fact and that fact is she's missing.”

Johnson is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 110 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.

Her mother, Stephanie Johnson, spent all day Thursday at Texas EquuSearch headquarters waiting for word about any sign of her daughter.

“I’m slowly dying inside to be quite honest,”she said. “I’m crying and not sleeping or eating and I’m relying on the strength of friends to keep me going.”

She said it’s very uncharacteristic of her daughter to leave her two young sons behind, especially since her 5-year-old has special needs and requires specific care.

EquuSearch crews say they will most likely return to the wooded area Friday morning to continue searching for Johnson.

If you have any information about Johnson's whereabouts, you can call League City police at 281-332-2566.
