Search continues for Houston friends missing after they were last seen in Austin

Family, friends and Texas EquuSearch are looking for two Houston friends who went missing sometime between Saturday and Tuesday.

Sidney Taylor, 35, and Krislyn Gibson, 35, were last seen together in Austin.

According to police, Taylor and Gibson left Houston on Friday and arrived in Austin to attend the Urban Festival for the weekend. They were both last seen early Saturday morning after leaving Taylor's cousin's house to go to a club.

They have since been reported missing to the Austin Police Department.

“It's not for lack of effort. We just now need a little bit of luck to get us in the right area and of course at this point in time, it doesn't look good,” said Tim Miller with Texas Eqqusearch.

Texas EquuSearch said Gibson was last seen wearing a white or light blouse with dark pants.

Taylor was last seen wearing blue jeans with a light or tan fleece jacket.

EquuSearch said the details of their clothing were confirmed by video obtained from the club where the two were last known to have been.

EquuSearch said Harris County Sheriff's Office will assist Thursday afternoon with a helicopter search.

“We're still strong, and we're still hopeful that the two people, Krislyn and Sidney, are gonna come home to us,” said Sidney's mother Mary Helen Ware.

"Something happened to you. Somebody did something to you, or you don't disappear. So he wouldn't disappear. Krislyn wouldn't disappear. They have a family. They have children. They're not going to leave those children. These are two responsible people," Ware said.

"They just went out to have fun," his sister Amanda Ware said. "I don't see them going out there looking for trouble at all."

On Tuesday, a vehicle belonging to one of them was found in Houston, but both Taylor and Gibson remain missing.

A relative using the Find My Phone app pinpointed Taylor's cell phone in Bear Creek Park in northwest Houston. Family and friends gathered Wednesday to search the area.

"My daughter. She is a good person with a good heart,” said Krislyn's father Josh Gibson. “A lot of people love her and we just want her back. We want her back."

"He was a proud father and devoted husband. This is definitely out of character. This is not something he would do," friend Calvin Davis said. "I called and texted him. His phone was dead and he didn't reply. That's definitely not him."

"Something is not right. She would never leave her baby. Never," friend Melody Moore said.

Tim Miller, with EquuSearch was helping in the search.

"It appears some phone activity occurred in this area" Miller said. "We don't know how credible that is right now, but it's the only thing we've got."

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

A GoFundMe account has been created to offer a $10,000 reward for information.
