Police: Man killed in shooting in east Harris County

HIGHLANDS, Texas – A man is dead after a shooting in east Harris County.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 5:50 p.m. Thursday after another man with a gunshot wound reported there was a body inside a home in the 1900 block of Jones Road.
Investigators say the man had gunshot wound to the chest was taken to San Jacinto Hospital and later flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann in serious condition. Deputies say that is when he informed the of a body at his home.
Deputies said an unknown amount of handguns were found at the scene and they are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.
Investigators also said there was a report of another shooting a few blocks away around the same time, but it was unclear at this time if the two are connected.
