Missing man's body found under northeast Houston bridge, family says

HOUSTON – Shirley Davidson got the heartbreaking news no mother wants to hear.

She believes the body found by a freeway mowing crew late this morning near the 3800 block of the Eastex Freeway is her 26-year-old son, Gerean Brown, who has been missing now for more than a week.

The body was found just a few feet from a crashed motorcycle.

The father of two was last seen leaving Mr. A’s Nightclub near his family’s home on May 29.

Police say there are no visible signs of foul play, and right now, they are investigating the death as an accident.

Brown’s mother isn’t convinced.

“It wasn’t an accident. It was no accident. We live right around the corner. It was no accident,” Davidson said.

Police say by no means is this case closed.

“No stone will be left unturned. If it’s an accident, we will look at it as an accident, but as we move forward, and if it’s something else, we will treat it as a crime scene,” said Executive Assistant HPD Chief T. Finner.

Officers will be canvassing the immediate area, going house-to-house, checking to see if there are surveillance cameras that may have captured something the night Brown disappeared.

“There is a suspicious vehicle we want to get identified because that vehicle looks like it may have been involved,” said community activist Quanell X.

Davidson is begging anyone with information to come forward.

“If you did this to my son, I would like you to come forward and turn yourself in, please,” Davidson said.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call police at 713-247-4072.
