Driver sought for injuring woman in hit-and-run

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for the driver of a minivan that ran over a woman who was lying in a roadway in southeast Houston early Sunday.

A witness called 911 after finding the woman lying in the middle of the street at Herschelwood and Doulton drives for unknown reasons around 2 a.m.

While the witness waited for police to arrive, the white minivan ran over the woman and the driver left without stopping to render aid.

Officials said the woman has a broken pelvis and suffered other injuries. She was taken to a hospital and treated.

Police said the van’s plates ended in K18 and was missing a front right headlight.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477 and may be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
