HOUSTON – A worker died after being hit by a dump truck Tuesday, police said.
It happened at a construction zone in the 12500 block of Highway 290 and Bingle Road in northwest Houston. The 26-year-old man was one of four engineers walking along a wall of a section of the highway under construction, when he reportedly stopped in the driveway, possibly to write some notes.

The man was hit by a dump truck that was backing up. The driver did not show signs of impairment, police said.
No charges are being filed.
The man's identity has not been released.
