North Houston Papa John's Pizza robbed for 2nd time this year

HOUSTON – Store surveillance video shows a man with his face covered run into the Papa John’s Pizza in the 2900 block of Tidwell.

In the video, you see him slip on the freshly-mopped floor. The robber ran straight to the office, pulling his gun on an employee, who was counting the money.

Next, he turned his gun on a second employee, who seemed to surprise him.

Then, for the next 50 seconds, the robber forced one of the employees to help gather up the money. The robbery happened Sunday about 11:00 p.m.

"You assume it is a real gun ... right in front of you ... right in your face,” said "Sam" Najmus Saqib, the franchisee.

He said he was also robbed at gunpoint in March at the same store. He said that the robber was never found.

"It's very frightening. It's very tough to deal with it. You're shaken up once you go through something like that. Especially if you've seen that video. That girl ... she couldn't talk for hours," Saqib said.

He hoped someone, even with the robber’s face covered, could help identify the man.

"There is a possibility, obviously. People who know him well. They should be able to recognize him. And the people who know what he does. He might be the one who did the first time also," Saqib said.

If you can help identify the man in the surveillance video, please call the Houston Police Robbery Division, or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward through Crime Stoppers.
